We’ve been working recently with the City of Edinburgh Council to develop a film to publicise their budget challenge project and encourage the people of Edinburgh to take part.
Film Creation for City of Edinburgh Council Budget Challenge
The Council’s budget challenge is to look at how resources are allocated across services and reduce the amount of money by £67m by 2018. Obviously, there are some decisions to make about where to invest money and where to save.
This year the Council has developed an online planner which will give the people of Edinburgh a chance to have their say and tell the Council how they would balance the budget! The decisions made by people using the online planner will help the Council to understand where the public would like to allocate spending over the next three years.
Our film introduces the budget challenge and the online planner by demonstrating how the City of Edinburgh Council provides many of the services that make our lives better and easier. We worked closely with the Council’s in-house design team and together we created an isometric world to represent Edinburgh’s residents, businesses, culture, schools and transport infrastructure. Using motion graphics animation we’ve brought the world to life to show how integral and important the Council’s services are to the people of Edinburgh’s daily lives, in order to encourage people to play their part and show how they would spend the Council’s budget.
